Community Design/Build
I submitted this concept plan as part of a design challenge for a community improvement grant opportunity. I worked in collaboration with the City of Richmond and Groundwork Richmond to develop a conceptual design based on the input from the Richmond community for how best to maximize a vacant lot along the Richmond Greenway. The idea that we developed revolved around the idea of providing more community access points to the multi-use greenway, which would ultimately connect the adjacent neighborhood to the activities along the trail. The design intertwines sensory, physical, and cultural elements and serves as an extension of the greenway, offering children and families an eco-themed play experience as a detour from the normal trail activities.
